7 Things To Never Wear Again

Was your new years resolution to dress better this year? Probably not, at least the people I know (myself included) our new year's resolution belonged somewhere in the health category.  With this new body we are all convinced we will have by the end of the year, I have come up with a list of things we should never put on them again.

1.)  Wedge Sneakers

Really guys, these just look ridiculous. A lot of people in the fashion industry would disagree with me but I am standing firm. I think they are tacky. Sneakers are supposed to be used for comfort, these do not look comfortable to me, nor could I work out in them. Wedges and Heels have a purpose of dressing up an outfit and making it more appealing.....these are doing the opposite for me.

2.) Sperry's

These have become a very casual shoe for women and I can't go anywhere without seeing someone wearing them.  They originally were the first mass produced shoe for boating, which is all fine, but today that is not what they are used for. I actually do not mind these shoes on men, I think they are a good easy option for a preppy mens look. Its the women's Sperry's that get me for some reason..why not put a cute pair of sandals or flats on, instead of these bulky tan things.

3.)  Cutout Crop Tops

Just....what even are these, Miley Cyrus?

4.) Uggs

This is a tough one, even for myself. I admit these shoes are so comfortable and warm, and I even admit to owning a pair. But they absolutely make any outfit that I wear have an immediate downgrade in the style department. Nothing about them is fashionable and I wont change my mind ever but Im trying my best to keep these comfy things in the perimeter of my house!

5.) Tacky Graphic Tee's

After middle school these things should just not happen.

6.) Yarn Bracelets

After age 10..these need to go. And the worst part is girls in college still wear them, and they are stained with dirt! Lovely.

A small list, I could go on for days but I will leave it at that. Agree? Disagree? Share with me your style Never's! Let me know in the comment section below!

Recreating Fashion

So few years ago, I had a favorite TV show that sadly doesn't air anymore. It was called "The Look for Less" and it was on the Style Network. In this show they would take a runway look and run through the mall with a small budget and have to recreate the look in under an hour. I always admire runway looks, but at the same time they are totally out of my price range. So I always find it fun to recreate looks and see how much a similar look would cost me. There's nothing wrong with becoming inspired and recreating these designer looks to match your budget, and its pretty easy!

LOOK 1 - Nicole Miller S/S 2014

(these pants alone are $510!)

What I found..

LOOK 2 - Tadashi Shoji S/S 2014

What I found...

LOOK 3 - WHIT S/S 2014

What I found...

I did this all online, which makes it easier to browse and search for specific styles and colors. Hope this inspires you to do the same! If you aren't confident about putting outfits together this is also a great strategy to use when you see something you like. It doesn't have to be from the runway either, it could be from celebrities, magazines or even someone you see walking on the street!

 Happy Fashion Week!

Yesterday kicked off the beginning of New York Fashion Week, a week long event that is home to hundreds of designers presenting their Spring/Summer 2014 collections. This morning I got the chance to catch up on the shows I missed, but the collection that really caught my eye was Erin Fetherston. She released her collection early in a styled photogenic form instead of a runway show. Her collection has true ready-to-wear pieces that aren't terribly expensive, at least compared to others that are thousands of dollars! Most of her dresses are under $500! These dresses are so versatile you can wear them anywhere. I think I died a little bit when I saw these images, so stinkin' cute. Her inspiration came from a trip to Barbados to be married earlier this year. The beautiful and fun colors of these garments reflect that, I have discovered my new favorite designer.

Theses dresses are perfect for daytime, dress up, bridesmaids and everything in-between!

Outfit Diary #3

Todays outfit diary I am obsessed over. This outfit was so comfortable (it felt like I was bumming it) and I love that. It seemed effortless to put together, something I sometimes struggle with. It is appropriate for  a casual outing as well as semi-casual! I wore it to school for the first day of the semester. I seem to always be an hour away from home at school many days so, I need to have outfits that are comfortable to sit in all day and also have a slim chance of malfunctioning (I cant just drive an hour casually to change!). Back to the outfit-  I have a love for structured polyester shirts. If they are made correctly they can have great structure and they look nicer (and dressier) than a cotton fabric. SO I paired my shirt with the MOST COMFORTABLE jeggings from Macy's. If you don't own any I would suggest to invest in some, my best decision ever. My chain necklace is also a trend i've fell in love with recently, and I finally found one I liked at forever 21. Stacking rings has also become one of my favorite things. My favorite things change ALOT but adding a few extra rings gives the look something a little extra, and i'll always go for a little extra bling! So stack em' up! Slightly transitioning into dark fall colors, I still wanted to have a semi-summer look so I paired my attire with nude flats. Saving the best for last I want to talk about my purse for a second.......because I just love it so much. Kate Spade makes the cutest purses, jewelry, tech items, totes, shoes, clothes...okay i'm done. But seriously everything is amazing! This purse is perfect to complete any look.

Back to Bloggin'

Hello! This summer i've really gotten behind on my blog but I'm looking forward to fall to be able to spend more time posting. I've had a great traditional florida summer! Although I was taking classes and had to work, (growing up isn't as fun as they said it would be) I still made time to do some fun things! I'm blessed by so many great people and I am so thankful. This fall term starting in September, I am looking forward to my buying/merchandising/marketing, the whole 9 yards internship with Solutions Bridal Designer House. This is my first internship and I'm super excited to finally get some hands-on experience in my possible future career paths! And ummm, who wouldn't want to be around gorgeous dresses by Badgley Mischka, Marchesa, Monique Lhuillier and Rivini all day, just to name a few! While I still have a few days left to prepare for my Fall load, heres my goodbye to summer by highlighting my favorite celebrity summer looks!
